The ICPC Electronic
Communication Policy
- The Islamic Center of Passaic County, Inc.
encourages the use of electronic communication and associated services (e.g.
computers, e-mail, telephones, fax machines, external electronic bulletin
boards, on-line services, the Internet and World Wide Web) because it is
believed that they make communication more efficient and effective, and because
they are valuable sources of information. However, electronic media and services
provided by The Islamic Center of Passaic County, Inc., are to
facilitate The Islamic Center of Passaic County, Inc. business.
The following guidelines have been implemented for employees utilizing
The Islamic Center of Passaic County, Inc. property (computers, e-mail,
telephones, fax machines, external electronic bulletin boards, on-line services,
the Internet and World Wide Web):
- Electronic equipment has been purchased by the agency
to assist in the daily operation of our business. This equipment should be used
only for agency purposes.
- Electronic media can not be used for storing,
transmitting, retrieving or communicating any material that is discriminatory,
harassing, obscene or x-rated in nature; or for chain-letters or any other
illegal activity.
- Use of electronic communications will not generally be
monitored by the agency. However, the agency reserves its rights to do so for
various reasons, including but not limited to the right to review any employee’s
electronic files, etc., employees should not assume electronic communications
are private and confidential, and that external services, such as, Internet
providers monitor communications
- External e-mail and other types of services are not
secure. Use of these services for confidential information may result in a
breach of confidentiality.
- Employees and members should respect the
“confidentiality” of others electronic communications.
- Employees and members must not attempt to hide their
identity. Employees are not to utilize another employee’s log name or password.
- Employees and members must adhere to copy rights. The
agency does not actually purchase software, it only purchases the license to use
the software.
- Employees and members found to be abusing these
privileges will be subject to corrective actions that may include formal
disciplinary action and or termination.
